I’m Kelly Phillips, a longtime resident, parent, and local business owner. I’m running for City Council to end blank checks, strengthen our economy, and put locals first.

Why Kelly Phillips?

Kelly Phillips is a longtime Steamboat Springs resident, having called the town home since 1992. He owns and operates Precision Repair Service & Sales, a local business focused on outdoor power equipment (snowblowers, mowers, etc.) which keeps him deeply connected to the needs of residents and local small business. Before running the shop, Kelly worked in diverse roles — from maintenance to guiding snowmobile tours, and even as a commercial diver in places as far-flung as West Africa, the Middle East, and the Gulf of Mexico. These experiences built his management skills and global perspective.

Phillips decided to run for City Council District 1 because he’s frustrated with the direction current leadership has taken — especially in how recent decisions like the Brown Ranch annexation process were handled without what he considers adequate community input.

Why Kelly Phillips?

  • Smart, Accountable Leadership — He promises a workforce that operates efficiently, responsible spending, and delivering concrete outcomes. No vague promises or open‑ended spending.

  • Balanced Budgets & Economic Stability — Phillips is committed to fiscal responsibility, protecting taxpayer dollars, and establishing resilient economic planning so Steamboat Springs remains stable for future generations.

  • Deep Community Roots — Over three decades in town, as a parent, business owner, and active local citizen, Kelly understands the values and challenges of Steamboat Springs families and businesses and is committed to real representation.
